Halflings

Halflings are diminutive human race who dwell in their own communities throughout the world. They are considered humanlikes, though they can interbreed with regular humans and philosophers deem them to be otherwise fully human. Halflings are most common in Pytharnia and on the island of Achubaia where they are the dominant race. Major halfling communities are found in Bahuna, Za-Bahuna, and far Asdauria. Halflings can be found in ethnic enclaves in major cities as well, particularly Trevirs, Verdida, Amyrn, and Bryndyd.

Languages of Halflings

There is no universal halfling language, although language scholars debate that there may have been an original language common to all or most halflings. Today's halflings speak their ethnic language which is not related to other groups. For example, the Mimbbuke Language is incomprehensible to those who only speak another halfling language. Halfling languages tend to have very generous borrowings of words from the local human language and it is believed they may have begun as a pidgin language.
