The Age of Dragons and Ice is an expression used by dwarven historians to describe events around roughly 9000 years before Salmakhamer. It is describes times towards the end of the dwarven Age of Ice and Blood, the end of the Vorudian Cataclysms, and the Flood of Karuthaya. Dwarven legends record that during this time, the city of Tauhad was founded (8,763 AS) as part of dwarven efforts to flee and fortify against ongoing predations of dragons. Other periods thought to be concurrent were the Jaffgorn-Dragon Age, ca 9250 AS to 8350 AS, the wars between dragons and the giant occupants of then Aksiluva which resulted in the destruction of the giant civilization of the skynesses, the invasions of dragons and tritons in the Pallathantic Sea during the time of the mythical Prikanuccha Kingdom of Kalama, and the Tayhoyre River Civilization of western Asdauria. The late civilization of the Kingdom of Kemenut was roughly contemporary.
The Age of Dragons and Ice is not well accepted by all historians due to the lack of primary sources about it. It is sometimes seen as the culmination of many changes occurring between the Great Flood of Aturyanda and the Flood of Karuthaya.
