The modern Army of Aurice is called the Grand Army by its historic origins during the reign of Duke Baimund Kaligär. The commander of the Grand Army was the Field Marshal.
Modern Uniform
Cobalt Blue coat reaches to knees, peaked shoulder pieces (compare doublet); winged helmets; breastplate; pole-arm; Cobalt blue buckler with silver trim; officers have high winged helmet.
History
Duke Baimund Kaligär raises the Grand Army of Aurice to fight against the Brasen Horde, Manditchite War. Duke Baimund drafted levies of soldiers throughout Throvy, forcing local noblemen to yield their serfs for this purpose. He also received aid from Corundy.
Grand Duke Stalcast Bijäl's decree brought about the abolition of serfdom and enabled him to enlist many more soldiers into the Grand Army, especially needed for defense again the Brasen Horde, the Addamantine Giants, and the Gorcorumbese in the Fifth Geddamin War.
Historic Uniform
Rich deposits of yuncovit discovered in the mountains of Frantigoria were seized by Duke Baimund and used for the dye to produce the uniforms for his Grand Army. The dye is still used today for Aurician Army uniforms and for the Johaulian members of the Cobalt College.
