Airdemainy is geographically the smallest of three Arathracian theocracies in southwestern Corundy. Although the present government was established in 2587 subsequent to the Treaty of Rhafyx in 2586, the ecclesiastical archpatriarchy has existed since the restoration of Arathracian clergy after the Isbajutha and the country has been historically Arathracian since the Yophenthean Empire.
Airdemainy has a mild, mediterranean climate, with sea breezes, spring and autumn, and winter rains, and moderate humidity which can become suffocating in the late summer. Airdemainy shares borders with the Archpatriarchy of Numiria, the Archpatriarchy of Tiomairy, and rests across the sea from the nearby Duchy of Desthor and the Gorcorumbese Empire of the Ephysgæes. The capital is the country's namesake, Airdemain. The island of Zattesa is part of the country. The spoken language is Corundian.
Government
The Achpatriarchy of Airdemainy is a suzerain, Arathracian ecclesiastical principality ruled by the Archpatriarch of Airdemainy who locally holds supreme political and religious power. He is a vassal to the Arathracian Sunfather of Erechóreb. In addition to his rule as Archpatriarch of Airdemainy, he is also Prince of Airdemainy in his capacity as secular ruler. The Prince of Airdemainy by decree made Airdemainy a signatory nation of the Accord of the Princes of Law in 2587. In practice, the Archpatriarch defers to the council of Arathracian lords and the Popular Assembly. The Archpatriarchy is a member of the Commonwealth of Arathracian States.
The archpatriarch is appointed by the Erechórebese Sunfather by recommendation from the Arathracian Senate of Airdemainy, although the sunfather is not obligated to choose from the candidate or candidates recommended by the senate.
Politics and Religion
Like the other Archpatriarchies in western Corundy, Airdemainy's population is mostly Arathracian. The law tends to secure the religious rights of Arathracians before it does that of other faiths. The rights of its Incarnandist minority are also secured for the most part. There are numerous voices clamoring for greater union with the other Archpatriarchies and also different voices pressing for unification of some sort for all of Corundy. Many of these aspirations have been realized in the recent formation of the League of Corundy.
