The Sea of Forgetfulness has carried its name since ancient times for reasons that have been themselves forgotten. It rests between the coast of Dúrandwor and the islands of Maturn, Bomelath, and Deliops. It is part of the Pallathantic Sea and today is filled with all manner merchant, military, and pleasure seacraft. It is the direct waterway among the seaports of Verdida, Gnousikai, and Elystrio.
In very ancient times, the Sea of Forgetfulness was the place of conflict between the ships of the ruler of Kalama and the pirate craft of the Neptultchi whose civilization at that time was entering into decline.
A poem records of that time:
On all the sea from Zander to Three,
from Astira to Bomelath
sailed pirates of the old Tuadbe,
On the waves of the Sea of Forgetfulness.”
