Vicif

A vicif is a large district of the city of Aurice or of the Aurician Metropolis. The city of Aurice proper has twenty nine such districts. Each vicif comprises numerous islands. The administrator of a vicif is the vicevile who is elected by the gentry of the vicif, subject to the Senate's approval. Not all vicifs have such a local government. The vicifs of Phœnicia, Duke Bijäl, and Dukes are not permitted to elect a vicevile. These vicifs are nearly entirely governmental or ambassadorial so relatively few citizens are affected by this exception.

In Throvian, the language spoken in Aurice, vicif is renedered 'z̧emvigo'. A vicevile is a 'z̧emvigevo'
