Half-Jykk
The Half-Jykk are an ethnic group of mixed ancestry, having Danonan humans and Jykki Orcs as their forebears. They are the principle inhabitants of Khuridán, Midiantir, and Shar-hez-Jir which are satellite states of Jhaadi Zhumzhur. Half-Jykks blend the civilized nature of humans and the murderous savagery of the Jykki. Half-Jykks are sometimes the brunt of ethnic derision from both the Jykki and neighboring humans. Half-Jykk countries tend to play the orcs and the humans off against each other as part of their survival strategy. Half-Jykki are sometimes called by the even more disparaging term orcrel which means a person of mixed orc-human ancestry. Some half-jykks have multiple jykki forebears and are indistiguishable from most jykks.
Populations
There are large half-jykk populations in northern Danona. They are also found elsewhere in the World of Asdar on the frontiers between orcs and humans. Some cities in Danona and elsewhere have large half-jykk ghettos.
Religion
Half-Jykks do not have a strong attachment to their ancient forebears and have developed the worship of several ancestral deities who combine the qualities of both. They tend to look at religion pragmatically and worship deities that they believe can help them. A minority of half-jykks have converted to the Incarnandist or to the Imzaami faith. Saint Askymos Reclave the Answerer was an important half-jykk Incarnandist Saint who founded the Askymic Order and fought in several Isbajutha, becoming an important leader in the Third and Fourth Isbajutha.
