Gliri
The island of Gliri rests in the middle of the Pallathantic Sea very close to the shore of southern Pytharnia. Gliri is the fourth largest Ithatian Island and the sixth largest of the islands of the Pallathantic Sea. The island enjoys a mild, Pallathantic climate with abundant gentle rains through autumn and winter, with some harsher storms in the winter. The island occasionally receives snow atop the mountain peaks in the winter.
Gliri is not part of the Republic of Ithatia, but is the core territory of the Republic of Gliri. Gliri is culturally comprised of Ithatians to the south and Glirts of ancient Moigthe exctraction to the north. The demonym, Glirt, means pertaining to Gliri and as a substantive means residents of Gliri. The official language is Ithatian. Gliri has resisted separate invitations to join the Republic of Ithatia and the Empire of Magdala.
The capital of Gliri is Istokkos. Other important cities include Charum, Musirica, Nebiotumos, and Amystisia. The principal industries of Gliri are fishing, shipping, copper mining, timbering, and sheep.
