History
The great wizard Ullareadh Jaffbarrow (Ullarod Jaffbarrow) migrated from Thrace to Asbardy in the late 13th century during the First Kalikán Empire of Basgáddin the Conqueror. After the First Kalikán Empire fell, the Jaffbarrow family continued to practice magic but were not so great as their forebear. They served the ruler of Asbardy, passing through the ranks of Erichruivan, Seigneur, Ligvehur, Grand Ligvehur of Asbardy, and finally arose to the rank of Seneschal during the reign of the Archmage. Princes of lands in their own right. Straudh dhal Midrevain Jaffbarrow built Tis Dighardois, a small castle worthy of a seneschal, around 2260. They prospered under the rule of the Archmage and survived the Seventh Is’bajath. The Medibgóëse Prince-Governor revoked the title of 'Seneschal of Gaherlus' because it was bestowed by the Archmage, but permitted them to retain the title of Grand Ligvehur of Asbardy. Under the New Kalikán Empire, they had most of their lands confiscated removed by the Thracian Viceroyal Duke. With the ascent of Archduke Agairth Srunamba, the title of Seneschal was restored, but not their land. What relatively little land they kept, they produced wine on, the most excellent wine called Serulese Languid.
The standard for derogation for lesser noble ranks in Asbardy is somewhat loose and allows for most agricultural enterprises, including wine-making.
