A midrettary is a priest who studies and practices the healing modalities of the ancient priests of Midretta, the Tassan divinity of healing. The art of the midrettary is considered antiquated by today's standards of medicine, but the practice is still maintained by a few colleges of Midrettaries in the Valley of Lake Vimala and Babirrhoksha. These priesthoods continue to practice their ancient arts to all who will accept them.
The priestly profession of the midrettary gradually transformed over the centuries into the profession of the modern midrettarian. Modern Midrettaries and Midrettarians produce and sell an ointment called Saint Midretta's Salve that can be applied topically to heal wounds.
