The Republic of Ithatia is a sovereign republic of member islands and cities. Many of the constituent islands were liberated in 2575 from the dominion of the Gorcorumbese Empire in the Ithatian Revolt (2575). The Republic of Ithatia was formed in 2576, although the Gorcorumbese rulers still continued to occupy several of the islands.
