House Adzurkis
House Adzurkis is known today for its powerful wizards and influence in the Magdalan schools of the arcane. They are famously recognized by their characteristic black velvet and gold-embroidered family costumes.
History
In the late twenty second century (2100's), Lady Thedactis Adzurkis, sometime a widower, brought her large family from Maturn to the eastern Magdalanate. They became small landowners and survived through the disorder and transformation of the Middle Ages of Chaos and the Twelfth Isbajutha. The family prospered in the wake of the defeat of the chaos rulers and began to take a more active role in politics.
In the 2360's, the powerful wizard family of House Adzurkis came to preeminence in the politics of Caffgara. In 2382, Emperor Davaglewb I of Magdala ennobled Brallanantis Adzurkis to the rank of Idhan Thel and assigned him the role of bringing the wizards of Magdala into compliance with the royal decrees forbidding the practice of chaos magics. In this capacity, he served under the Grand Wizard of Magdala. House Adzurkis held its own during the reign of Smalig Bragona and complied with Thracian rule in the twenty sixth century.
House Adzurkis today continues to hold a position of some pre-eminence. Several of their members are known as accomplished spellcasters. Others are instructors in arcane schools of Medibgö and Trevirs.
