Pensatory
The magical energy that can change, alteration, or transform begins as Gnomata. In the logical method of spellcasting, the caster masters mental modes of perception called the pensatory which can conform to a range of grades of intensity and rapport with the magical universe. The guiding principle of the pensatory is the ancient expression, As within, so without There is an exchange between the magical microcosm of the human soul and the magical macrocosm of the universe called magical resonance. The intuitive method functions in the same way, but students of the intuitive method do not have rigorous catalogue from which to draw from and call the mental modes 'thought-forms' when they refer to them at all. The human being thus becomes a resonance or an enabler of magical energy from within.
The pensatory regimen brings the acolyte's consciousness into a range of coordinate mental states that enable him the power to perceive and manipulate magical energy. There are two practiced pensatory systems.

Legendary Aeonic System
Historians and folklorists have found in their studies the existence of an ancient system pre-dating even the Titans called the Aeonic System which was said to use no less than thirteen distinct thought-form energies. If such a system existed, it would challenge the best mages, but enable great power and control over the panstream.

Alternative Systems
From time to time, a scholar or spellcasting mystic proposes or develops a new system, such as a six-based or eight-based one. These historically have never been shown to be workable or drawn from a sound, magical foundation. The most often sought of these so-called alternative systems is the Aeonic System.
Exclusivity of Systems
The thought-forms of the Titanic System are not miscible with the Sungotine System. Attempts to merge the two in practice create two inchoate magical energies of little or no consequence.
Pensatory Notation (Written Magic)
Logical magic can be recorded. The Sungotine System uses glyphs from the Elamahti Language to inscribe the nine energies and all supporting characters that show their relationships to each other.
The Compound Form
Using two or more pensatories with each other constitutes the compound form. It is a great day in life of student mage to learn this, for it is spark of the first true spellcraft. A compound form can be composed of as few as two pensatories to as many as a hundred for the most extraordinary spell-forms.
