Shadmenus
An ancient chaos god, Shadmenus appears as a beautiful naked youth with a golden tiara. He serves as the messenger or herald of the Chaos Gods and is the lord of the Harlequins of Shadmenus. He appears as a tall, slender, radiant being with luminous skin and fair hair. Legends report that the god's brilliance causes viewers to avert their gazes. His worshipers regard him as the revealer of the messages of the gods and the herald of higher truths. He is also associated with initiatory cults of chaos and is called upon to help new worshipers of chaos. In the Pallathantic today his cult is proscribed and only scholars openly study him.
The herons of Shadmenus are great birds that serve as messengers to the god.
The Harlequins of Shadmenus serve in the court of their god, providing amusement and performing tasks for him. The Harlequins are thought to be particular priests whom the god has appropriated to his court.
