The Commonwealth of the Ithrads is the powerful dwarven state occupying the midst of south central Pytharnia in the Ithrad Mountains. The present Commonwealth of the Ithrads was constituted as the Third Commonwealth around 2380 during the recovery period associated with the Isbajutha which saw the end of the great Chaos Rulers of the Pallathantic.

Nearly all inhabitants of the Commonwealth are dwarves and dwell over half of the time underground.

The Commonwealth includes all of the Ithrad Mountains and neighbors the Empire of Magdala, Ategonia, and the Archpatriarchy of Ambrasia.

The capital of the Commonwealth is the historic city of Tauhad which was settled in 9687 AS and is thus over ten thousand years old according to dwarven history. Tauhad is the most populous city of the Commonwealth. Other great cities on the surface are Adumahas, Behan, Sakha, and Thu'oma.
