The shrine memorializes all the persons who were slain in the Anarch Wars and all the foolish adventurers who have died attempting to retrieve treasure from Vilangril.  Red pennants are flown from the shrine, representing each lost soul.  The caretaker reminds visitors he gets a box of new pennants from [[Leva]], the provincial capital of [[Alascundy]] every month and some months he runs out of pennants and has to wait for the next month.
