The Pytharnian Highlands are the countries in central southern Pytharnian north of the Mathgefrew Mountains. The region of the Pytharnian Highlands is enclosed by the hills of the Skelkast Forest and the Warlock Hills to the north, the Ithrad Mountains to the west, the Mathgefrew Mountains to the south, and the Pytharnee Drombs to the east. Dúrandwor and Gonfaloy are outside of the Pytharnian Highlands. The Highlands are so named because their elevation is above the sloping lands of coastal Pytharnia. The lowest point of elevation in the Pytharnian Highlands is about 6.15 DF (990m or 3250 ft). There are several water systems in the Pytharnian Highlands of which only the Hindurnuse-Nystasy River System drains into the sea. The other river systems are endorheic. There are several large lakes in the region, including Lake Kasgo, Lake Thrundgally, Lake Taungas, and Lake Othgundel.

The Pytharnian Highlands include the Magdalanate, the Marshes of Baihu, the southern portion of the Skelkast Forest, the Amosgire Hills, and the valley of the Hyndurnuse-Nystasy River System. States with territory in the Pytharnia Highlands are the Empire of Magdala, the Viceroyalty of Jagohr, and southern Kasthavia.
