Pradorissa is a modern word from the Lucacian Language which means "Over Aurice" or the low sky above Aurice with its skycraft and inhabitants. Aerobarges both chartered and free-flying occupy the Pradorissa and comprise most of the skycraft. The term generally means the more or less permanent occupants of the low sky—those who work as aerobargers, cooks, and guides, those who commute, and those who dine in luxurious restaurant 'barges in the thirty to one hundred feet just over the city. It generally does not encompass larger skycraft that may be in the process of landing or taking flight from the city, en route to or from another locale. In addition to aerobarges, any skycraft, such as pleasure sky-yachts, drifting above the city up to two or three hundred feet and engaged in sight-seeing are also considered part of Pradorissa. There are numerous aerobarges that serve as illegal rent houses for poor and unfortunate occupants, sometimes engaged in questionable activities. These aerobarges are usually secondhand or refurbished and required by law to operate over the canals. During major state events and holidays, such as the Games of High Summer, the skyspace above the city becomes restricted and most aerobarges are legally required to vacate the city. Some aerobarges are permitted in tightly controlled areas who enable spectators to view events, such as the Imperial Skar Pennant.
