Wonderrock Sound
Wonderrock Sound is a channel lying between Midrardia and northern Skerrod in the Pytharnian Sea. It is known for the peculiar sea boulders exposed by low tides. It is an important waterway between the northeastern coast of Pytharnia and the Bay of Throrind. Like much of the Pytharnian Sea, its waters are cool to cold throughout the year.
Wonderrock Sound is so called for the strange rocks which are exposed periodically due to the effects of the tides which can cause the sea level to vary by as much as ten meters between high and low tides. These rocks have unusual properties which cause them to emit a low, penetrating hum under a full moon accompanied with a soft, phosphorescent glow. The rocks are rather large and not amenable to being relocated to another place and so must be studied in situ.
