The Archduchy of Asbardy is a constitutional monarchy which rests on the lands of southwestern Pytharnia. It enjoys a temperate climate surrounded to the west by the Pytharnian Sea and to the south by the Pallathantic Sea. Its southern coast is pierced by the Sea of Asbardy. The climate is temperate with winter rains and rarely receives snows in the winter in the inland territory.
Rise of the Archduchy of Asbardy
The Archduchy of Asbardy is one the states which arose from the coalition that formed from subject princes and forces of the former New Kalikán Empire in the war known as the Great Sky War. The nobles supporting Agairth Srunamba, leader of the rebellion, elected him the Archduke in 2576, subsequent to the Treaty of Tauhad (2576).

The Archduchy of Asbardy is a hereditary monarchy. The power of the archduke is limited in some ways by the Archducal Diet. The diet is composed of the estate-owning nobles. The archduchy is divided into six dominions and numerous provinces. Thus, the Dominion of Asbardy is a subdivision within the greater archduchy of Asbardy. The other dominions are Priordania, Graith, Flisbardy, Giant Isles, and Breomarch. New Pytharnia is an archducal colonial dominion.
Bryndyd
The capital of Asbardy is Bryndyd which is the seat of the archducal residence and the Archducal Knights-Draconic of Asbardy. Bryndyd is the sixth populous city in the old world with about 715,000 inhabitants. It rests at the north end of the Sea of Asbardy across from the mouth of the Rhaunve River.
Language
The official and most widely spoken language in the archduchy is the Asbardian Language. Minority languages included Tuadbean, Myernian, Gonfalese (Gaihwch and Rhaunvish dialects), and Kemerite.
Religion
Most inhabitants of the archduchy are Arathracian with a significant minority worshiping the Isxinthion Gods. Harmonists and Incarnandists comprise the balance of the religions. A very small minority consist of Imzaamis and other foreign beliefs.
