So called lesser chaos rulers served as vassals of the handful of Greater Chaos Rulers of the Middle Ages. Despite the fealty, the difference in power was often a technicality and each was a powerful chaos wizard in his own right. Their fortunes often waned with the demise of their lords and, as in the case of Ephresoult the Dreadful, could perish at the hands their liege. Others, like Llamgathsukba of the Beasts who did not aid his liege in the Second Battle of the Archmage (2302), survived until their own demises. Finally, some chaos rulers departed from the common realm to another realm, such as Lord Kualotha of the Groaning Earth and Glittering Nesilivo Spawn of Amonthrace.
