Zephasia
Zephasia consists of the tropical isthmus of southernmost Asdauria and the coasts of northwestern Bahuna in its vicinity. The equator passes through the southern portion of Zephasia which is part of Bahuna. This portion is sometimes called 'Old Zephasia.' The northern portion of Zephasia comprises most of the Shanjari Empire. The great city of Benjalay and her ruler are suzerain, officially recognizing the sovereignty of the Khamifate of Shanjahar, but retaining all practical power to itself. Cities north of Benjalay are subject to the Caliph. South of Benjalay are the independent principalities of Old Zephasia, including Mithragutha, Tamjib, Githva Tancuco, Temutmatha, Thrattanzure, Ramu-Derra, Rayootipurt, Zaaltuumtl, and Omedzure. Ishdind is culturally part of Zephasia as well.
Anciently Zephasia was settled by the ancestors of the Zephasian People. In the early middle ages, Dagaithi tribesmen immigrated and settled the semi-tropical lands to the north of Zephasia, but south of the Sahimb. The Dagaithi gain converts to the Imzaha Religion and conquered many cities in northern Zephasia, but failed to conquer Benjalay.
Benjalay
By far the greatest city of Zephasia and probably the world is Benjalay. Despite its location in the heart of the tropics, Benjalay is an immense city. Thanks to its grand canal that links the Askonian Ocean with the Shimehaz Ocean, Benjalay is also the greatest market city for thousands of ddwmir around and is a crucial link between the merchants of Sungo and the merchants of the Pallathantic.
Shanjahar
The second greatest city and the capital of the Khamifate of the same name, Shanjahar is the seat of the Dagaithi rulers of Zephasia.
